Red Oak Farm is located in Columbia County, NY on 85 acres of open pasture, cultivated cropland and woodlands, 60 acres of which is under an agricultural conservation easement. We currently manage about 12 acres planted in vegetables, berries, apples, herbs and flowers. Our farm specializes in greens, fruit, storage and late/early season
Red Oak Farm is located in Columbia County, NY on 85 acres of open pasture, cultivated cropland and woodlands, 60 acres of which is under an agricultural conservation easement. We currently manage about 12 acres planted in vegetables, berries, apples, herbs and flowers. Our farm specializes in greens, fruit, storage and late/early season crops, mushrooms, flowers, as well as both culinary and medicinal herbs.
We distribute our farm products through our CSA program, local farmers' markets, wholesale outlets, and special orders.
We have a strong commitment to growing Organically and with as few inputs as possible. We NEVER spray! We use rock powders, minerals, Organic Compost. Nothing else! We don't use black plastic row cover and limit our mechanical usage to keep fuel use as low as possible. This translates into a very high quality product that tastes fantastic!

We specialize in dried culinary herbs and herbal teas, all grown, processed and blended here on our farm. We provide the highest quality herbs possible, which involves attentive care and appropriate growing sites for the herbs, timely harvest at peak of quality, followed by careful preservation and storage. The result is a fresh, aromatic herbal product that preserves all of the flavor, scent and action of the herbs you are brewing.
TINCTURES AND SALVES
We also make a selection of seasonal body oils and salves, done with the same commitment to quality and character. Locally, our products are available at our farmers' market stands, through our CSA program, or by special order.
WREATHS
Beginning in Mid-November, we provide holiday wreaths and greenery that is wild-harvested from our 85-acre property. These are available at our farmers' markets, the Hawthorne Valley Winter Festival, Candlelight Walk in Kinderhook, and by special order.

Paul and Amy, professionals in NYC with a weekend property in upstate NY, had some good agricultural land but lacked the time and know-how to turn their dreams of a farm into reality.
At the same time, Taylor and Courtney Tribble,

At the same time, Taylor and Courtney Tribble, experienced farmers who lacked the capital to buy land and equipment, were looking for an opportunity to start a farm of their own. As is often the case today, a new farming model was what was required and The Farm and the two families have grown together.
